Genomics Data Visualization
Speaker: Wen-Ching Chan, PhD
Date: Thursday, May 4, 2017
Time: 2:00-4:00pm

Thanks to the wide availability of high-throughput technologies, large amounts of genomics data are generated in biological and biomedical research. This session of the CRI Seminar Series is a hands-on training intended to introduce researchers to the use of web-based and stand-alone genome browser visualization tools.

This session will cover:

  • An introduction to commonly used file formats for genomic data
  • Downloading, installing, and configuring visualization tools for interactively exploring genomic datasets
  • Loading and navigating genomics data using visualization tools
  • Saving, sharing, and restoring personal sessions in visualization tools

Since this is a hands-on training, participants must bring their own laptops and have access to the University’s wireless internet connection in order to participate. Please register to reserve your seat.
