HPC Workshop: Beginner
Speaker: Mike Jarsulic
Date: Wednesday, April 5, 2017
Time: 9:30-11:30am
Location: KCBD 1103

This installment of the CRI Seminar Series is an introduction to our high performance computing resources. Our HPC Administrator Mike Jarsulic will provide a beginner’s overview of HPC, including the following topics:

  • A brief overview of the services and resources the CRI offers
  • An introduction to the concept of HPC
  • An overview of the hardware used in our current HPC environment
  • An introductory discussion of the software environment and job scheduling

This session will be similar in content to the CRI Seminar Series course we offered in October 2016, “Introduction to Gardner.” If you attended that session, and/or if you are looking for a more in-depth discussion of how to schedule jobs and use our HPC environment, consider attending the HPC Workshop: Advanced session on April 6. You are also welcome to register for both the beginner and advanced sessions.

Bringing your laptop to follow along is encouraged, but not required. Please register to reserve your seat.
