This presentation will explore the many facets that inform data driven decision making and its use cases and impact on healthcare with a focus on innovation. By the end of the talk participants will be able to:

  • Understand how a healthcare innovation company utilizes analytics to help drive implementations to scale
  • Assess opportunities to apply analytics for improve decision making across multiple healthcare domains
  • Explain the advantages of utilizing cost and quality data to enrich decision making
  • Identify opportunities to apply predicative analytics in healthcare settings
  • Describe the critical issue interoperability plays in healthcare data analytics
  • Articulate the challenges and mitigation strategies in implementing a healthcare analytics program
  • Understand the key concepts in developing a healthcare analytics strategy

Speaker: Linda Lockwood, RN, MBA is the Vice President, Clinical and Quality Informatics at AVIA.

With over 30 years of experience in leadership roles in the healthcare environment, Linda has an extensive background and passion for identifying key outcomes for quality, value measurement and compliance while working with hospitals and health systems to help ensure that their technology becomes a vehicle for guiding clinicians to evidence-based practice and achieving improved clinical and financial outcomes. At AVIA, Linda leads the market strategies and business and clinical Intelligence teams, supporting market research and building the case to estimate and measure impact.

Holding a number of leadership roles in both the consulting and vendor space, she has worked to design systems and processes in a way that supports best practice and regulatory compliance to enable data aggregation and analysis. Her service line leadership has focused on Clinical Advisory Services for FCG, The Advisory Board, Eclypsis/Allscripts, Encore and CTG. Her practices focused on positioning providers to build their HIT foundation and organizational strategy to capture eMeasures, driving performance improvement that enables them to compete in the fee-for-value payment environment.

Linda is an registered nurse, with a master in business administration from Loyola College. She is certified in patient centered medical home and has spoken and written nationally on value and outcomes measurement, population health and informatics.
