Due to the popularity of last summer’s Python trainings, we’re bringing back this workshop! This introductory session will be Part I of II, and we look forward to expanding the series further in the near future.
This workshop will provide hands-on training in Python programming for bioinformatics. Part I will cover the following topics:
Introduction to the Python shellRunning command-line Python scripts
Background information on Python
Strings, integers, floats, lists, and dictionaries
How to write your own functions
Interacting with users via the command line
Introduction to loops
