The Center for Research Informatics (CRI) has several important announcements for clinical researchers and operational staff regarding new policies and guidelines:
Announcement 1: The Center for Research Informatics (CRI) and the Human Imaging Research Office (HIRO) have teamed up to provide expert guidance on the 2023 NIH Data Management Requirements.
Announcement 2: The Clinical Research Data Stewardship Committee within the Biological Sciences Division (BSD) has issued two policies to guide researchers on using clinical and clinically derived data from our health system. The relevant policies, indicated below, can be reviewed on the OCR website’s policies page.

Announcement 3: The Data Governance Committee at the University of Chicago Medicine has issued multiple Data Governance policies to guide clinical researchers and operational staff on the safe usage of various analytic reporting systems, including but not limited to, the use of Epic’s SlicerDicer and Reporting Workbench for research purposes. Announcement 4: The Clinical Research Data Stewardship Committee has developed Guidelines for Accessing, Sharing, and Transferring Clinical Data for Research Purposes to help clinical researchers understand and address the institutional, ethical, and legal considerations that are the underpinning of appropriate usage of clinical data with third parties.
